Whitney Buchmann

Associate Consultant

Whitney Buchmann is an associate consultant with Factum Global. She brings more than 13 years of social sustainability experience and specializes in facilitating change initiatives that involve stakeholder perspectives at all stages (human-centered design).

Whitney believes that organizations are microcosms of, and interconnected with, our communities. By applying a human-centered design approach to new market strategies, we can create the conditions for your company and its various stakeholders to thrive.

At a local level, Whitney has helped organize 30 cross-sector organizations around a common strategy to increase food security. The strategies increase demand for local producers and retailers while meeting the unique needs of the community. At a state level, she applied human-centered design to improve a $165 million state contract for non-emergency medical transportation, impacting 130,000 clients and almost 200 vendors. Internationally, Whitney helped build and convene an international Commission of stakeholders to advise on how to invest $25M to create sustainability for their capital and mission.

Whitney spent more than two years traveling internationally and across the US to learn about challenges faced by industries (e.g., coffee) and by communities. She serves on the Board of Directors of a Colombian foundation that serves as an incubator for underestimated entrepreneurs in LATAM.

Whitney’s leadership in social innovation, roles supporting organizations as they transitioned from startup to growth, and proximity to executive turnover led her to pursue social entrepreneurship through a Global MBA at IE Business School. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and International Studies, and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from Kansas State University.
