Doug Collier

Doug Collier joined the Factum Global Advisory Board in 2021.

Doug is a highly accomplished global executive and leader whose most recent experience
included 12 years at La-Z-Boy, a $1.7B publicly-held home furnishings retailer and manufacturer, where he held the roles of SVP/Chief Commercial Officer and President International. He was a key member of the executive team that led the company’s significant turnaround, strategic repositioning and growth after the 2009 financial crisis, leading to a market cap increase from $66M in early 2009 to over $1.5B by 2019.

Currently, Doug is a director and advisor for private companies in consumer products and technology in North America and internationally. In his role as board director, he provides a range of advisory services to management, given his broad executive experience across strategic planning, international, marketing and brand development, IT and digital. Doug is an active early-stage investor in startup companies from Chicago to London, in industries ranging from food and beverage, to industrial and consumer technology. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Advisors for Marxent, a quickly growing digital technology company focused on 3D/AR/VR, and mentors and advises several other startups.

Prior to joining La-Z-Boy, Doug served on the executive team of Sleep Number Corporation, where he was EVP/Chief Marketing Officer and led marketing, product management, new product development and e-commerce. Prior to his first three years at La-Z-Boy as Chief Marketing Officer and VP, Marketing and Furniture Galleries Development, Doug was on the executive team of Iomega Corporation, a $1B publicly-held technology company. He held the role of SVP, Product Management and President International. He began his career in the appliance industry, where he served in a variety of product management, strategy and business development roles at GE Canada (Camco) and with Whirlpool in the U.S., Germany and Italy.

Doug earned an MBA from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba, where he is a member of the Alumni Council and Faculty of Science Board of Advisors. Doug resides in Michigan.
